South Humanities Wing : Spring 2006

The Dirty South Humanities Wing

All classes offered at fandomhigh by drgrissom, msgilmoredanes, prof_methos, prof_cregg, and geoff_chaucer occur in the same wing of the school campus.
The wing is located on the first floor, so that the doors to the exterior in the classrooms access the grounds. There are large windows in each room that have dark shades that can be pulled down for total privacy if necessary.

From the Top/Right, and working in a counter-clockwise direction...

Lecture Hall
A = A large whiteboard with a projection screen that can pull down over it
B = A long table and podium for speakers to use to address the classes
There is movie theatre style seating that rises toward the back, with writing inserts that can pull up for note-taking.
This is where Business classes meet on a regular basis.

Humanities Classroom #2
A = Methos Dr. Pierson's desk
For some reason, the storage in this room is windowless, soundproofed, and padded. Odd.
The student chairs/desks in this room are much nicer than the chairs in the rest of the building. Well-cushioned, and surprisingly tasteful upholstry.

Professors' Offices
The reception area has a few chairs, a table, some magazines. Fairly standard, if you are waiting to see someone, you'll be occupied.
Grissom and Lorelai's office... will probably make you cry, one way or another. Grissom has a lot of creepy stuff all over the place. Here is a good idea of some of the stuff you'd see in there. Lorelai has a lot of things that could be classified as adorable, or kitschy. So next to an ant farm is probably a Disco Barbie in the original box. Grissom will be removing all of his more nasty pets, toxins, and really, really creepy stuff at the beginning of the semester because he'll be a little bit protective of Lorelai. What? How can any one resist her? But if you open a drawer, you still may find gross dead things in jars.
Behind them is a kitchenette/break area. It's airy and pleasant, with a lot of seating. It has a lot of snacks, but no coffee brewing. Ask for coffee in this room at your peril, because Lorelai and Grissom both are currently cut off, and they are way bitter about it.
On the other side of the kitchenette is Dr. Pierson's office. One would guess the couch is really a sofa bed, that minx. He has his own coffee machine. Go bug him.
Geoff's and CJ's offices are sadly down the hall. They both have a key to Grissom/Lorelai's office so that they can use the kitchenette, though.

Bathroom/Elevators
The bathrooms are standard. Stalls, sinks with mirrors, the boys have a urinal wall, the girls have a small area with with a few chairs and a coffee table in the entryway, because girls always have nicer bathroom. The handicapped bathroom is one big room.

Humanties Classroom #1
The long box on the side is a built in bookcase that covers the entire wall, and is full of different volumes of literature.
Windows line the other side, and there is a door as well.
On the opposite wall, is a blackboard for Geoff and CJ. The seating can be moved as necessary. The closet in the back holds the textbooks specifically for Geoff's classes.

A/V Screening Room
A = A row of computers for students to use with audio/visual software and technologies, although they will probably use them more to look at porn, knowing this school.
B = A large screen
This classroom can be used to show films in lieu of rolling one of those crappy TV units in somewhere else, and can be used for students constructing any sort of multimedia project.

Sociology Lab
Although it is a Sociology classroom, Grissom has set up his area with full scientific lab capabilities. Not quite the Science wing, but more like a typical high school's biology or physics rooms.
A = Grissom's desk
B = Glass-doored cabinets lining the wall, filled with various scientific lab equipment and specimens. Microscopes, basic chemicals, etc.
The lab stations are long black tables, with sinks and gas lines.
C = The emergency shower and eye wash.

Resource Center/Stairs
For storing extra textbooks and other materials as Grissom, Dr. Pierson, Geoff, CJ, and Lorelai see fit. Open when one of the professors is present in the wing.
It is rather dark and creepy, and filled with more of Grissom's jars, as well as ancient textbooks and volumes of old journals, janitorial supplies, etc.
If you have to do make-up work for Grissom, he'll probably stick you in there. Or any teacher might send you there is you are misbehaving like woah. Have fun.

THE Frequently Asked Question - Where is this in relation to everything else?
A: It's on the first floor. Therefore, it should be within easy walking distance to the cafeteria, offices, etc. The wing is to the South, so presumably all those things are North. Ask Methos Pierson where it is in relation to the library, he can actually tell you that. The Science Labs are also on this floor, on the other side of the building I'm getting there, okay?. Other than that, ask the person who runs the department where it is in relation, if you're curious. Not all professors like to define their space like this, and that's cool, but it's probably safe to just describe random hallways you walk down to get from A to B.

[If you'd like your club listing to be added to the schedule, that's cool, leave a comment. Just because something is not listed, doesn't mean it isn't there - by way of schedule, or physical items. Also, remember that this is campus. Someone (that mysterious tree in the corner, the princiPAL OF DOOM, a camera or twelve, your fellow students and faculty) is probably watching you here. So if your character needs to smoke a joint in the bathroom, have them bring a towel and use some dryer sheets.]
