Da Beard

I don't think I've used a straight razor in my life, and with my hair, I really doubt I ever want to try. I use an electric razor, and I've had the same one my father gave me almost a decade ago. It still works well. It's a cordless, and when I went on my trip to Europe, I made sure to charge it the night before I left. The first day I woke up ( Read more... )

As your former roommate, Shawn, I have to say that that is just wrong.

Phil, I'm genuinely shocked. As the greatest beard aficionado I've known, I would have expected you to welcome me into the ranks of the bearded. I mean, just look at your livejournal icon.

Is it just because you knew me for so long beardless you can't get used to the idea? I mean, it is definitely a new look for me. For the first time in my life, I may actually look my age!

I'm sorry you & Bryan feel so badly about it, but I'm afraid it's going to be here for a while. Bryan can tell you how stubborn I was when the women on my small group tried to get me to cut my long hair. Plus, when I was at the wedding this weekend, I was amazed at how many people complimented me on it. You two are definitely in the minority.

Plus, I wonder what they'll think of it in Qatar.

Yeah, it's mostly the "Baby Face Peach" impression of you that I've got. Just like I'll always think of Joel Walters as being 15 1/2 and perpetually unable to drive himself anywhere.

But I will forget the Peach I once knew.

Welcome to the club.

I thought of a zillion different (ok about 4) titles I could've given this comment. However, not knowing exactly all that much about your sense of humor, I decided to play it safe.

The first thing I thought when I saw it was "Wow! That sure puts some years on!" Indeed it does. And it gives me a whole new mental picture instead of the 2 year old one I have of you from Star's wedding. Not that my opinion counts much, but I'd say it's neither good nor bad, just different. You keep this on for a few years then shave it off when you start to look a bit Too much older. Hopefully everything will be as fresh looking as it was before you grew it, lol.

I rather like it, actually.

Don't tell Ashley though, I like him clean-shaven ;)

Stylish short hair, a sportin' beard, the same eyes shining with kindness and good-humor.

Thas my big bro!
