Something weird happened.
I was in the common room, minding my business at the computer, when something moved through the wall. It was translucent, looked like a human, just more slimy, and there even were HOLES in it below the ribcage ( Read more... )

It sounds like a ghost. I keep... hearing talk of ghosts around the dorms... this building seems to be old... so it might be natural... to have a few attached spirits.

I could... probably help... if it's trying to harm you, it's best that... it's sent away.

A ...ghost? Hmm. And I thought these things were just stories.

You do sound like you have heard of ghosts before, are you an expert on the issue?

And no need to be shy, by the way. I don't bite.

Where I'm from... they're quite real.

I wouldn't say that... was exactly the case, miss... but I do know a few things...

Sorry, sorry... just that, I'm... it can't be helped.

I see. That sounds annoying to have these things creeping around eating furniture.

Well, if you are no expert yourself it might be actually dangerous for you to actively help me, right?
The question thus is: How dangerous would such a "ghost" be? Do they have any specific powers one needs to watch out for?

Really. Strengthen your spine a bit. You're just talking to me over this computer. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't hit you or yell at you, right? So cheer up! It's fine.

A ghost, as the young man above me deduced, or perhaps a wraith.

Are they usually to be left alone, or are there actions to be taken?

It depends. Does it make you uneasy?

Not really. I just don't want to wake due to someone screaming their hand got eaten or something. It'd be a bother for everyone, hence my question.

Ugh. I hate ghosts. If there really are ghosts I'm so outta here >:. Not that I'm scared of ghosts, or anything. Yeah.

Of course not. No one would be scared of some stupid ghost.

Don't worry, they seemed to be pretty harmless. Well, for now. Might still eat people or something, I'm not so sure about that one. Better stay careful.

Yeah really, I mean, who'd be scared of something that could go through walls and prevent you from escaping. Or move through your body? And possibly take over? And make you try to kill your best friend? I mean, please <.<;

If they just want to eat people, that's not so bad, like zombies! But...you can lock the door against zombies. Well as long as they don't possess people, that's when things get sour.

Nope, not scary at all nope nope.

Our local zombies kinda had the tendency to crush doors. But they at least respected that there was a door. Not scary, but annoying.

And yes, good to see you are all composed. Who knows what could happen if there were more of them, could be dozens around, all floating through walls like that... and maybe posessing the weak minded, too, good point.

So that's where that stupid thing went off to. I was chasing it but then I got distracted and let it get away.

Hey, teachy, there's some guy above claiming it'd be pretty bad to kill that thing for balance reasons. Not sure about this world, think it'll be bad just to shoot it to pieces next time? Don't want them to blame some sort of cosmic calamity on me if I kill some of these things.

By the way, still not very scary.

Who gives a fuck if the world ends or not?

Excuse me? That thing was just a random blob of ectoplasma and human entrails, not any force of mine.
