Being back in school again, I am torn between shock that a school would actually offer something so puerile and "Hey, it's an easy A!"

Oh well, back to finals...

Having been forced to take a course in Feminist Philosophy as a function of the Philosophy degree I pursued in college, I can assure you that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is much less puerile than many of the short-stories and novel excerpts we were forced to read.

"The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman readily comes to mind.

I think Buffy truly is a modern feminist icon, and done properly, the course might actually have some merit to it.

I took a Literature class this semester that was called LIT: Sci Fi and Fantasy. It has several "topics" that change each semester, but the one I got was Imagined Worlds II: Oz, Narnia, and Hogwarts.

So we read 4 books from Oz, Narnia, and Harry Potter. =P

Is it sad that I want to hear more about this class and what you did in it? Do tell.

I think it sounds awesome. It seems like whenever we used something I would have normally liked for a class, it killed the fun for me. But since I already have enjoyed the material, bring on the deeper discussion! In fact, I'd like to find somewhere I can dig deeper in the layers of Lord of the Rings and other books I've loved.

I miss me some geeky edjumication!
