Personality: Flay is a man of two things. Action, and adventure. To sum up Flay with two words may seem utterly ridiculous, but it is a fact. The entirety of Flay's life is based around things being exciting and, when necessary, him forcing them to be that way. Yessir, he is a man of action, through and through. A man of loud, vocal, overbearing, you-will-take-part-in-this-whether-you-want-to-or-not action. The scary part of this is the fact that Flay is both charismatic and clever enough to get by living this way. At a glance, once might think he is just another loudmouthed, boisterous idiot with a giant sword... Which to be fair, he kind of is-- But he also happens to have a scheming, calculating and goal-oriented side to him that only really shines when he has a person in his sights to work with. And if you happen to be that person, well... You will start wishing you weren't.

His need for action aside, when things are dull? That is when Flay truly shows just how forceful he is. He will be more than happy to stage things such as a kidnapping, a monster attack, a little sister missing her big brother who needs rescue... All of this and more is well within the realm of possibility when Flay is bored. In fact, if he happens to like you, you may find yourself being tossed into the leading role of these forced events whether you want to or not. Which 80% of the time, you will not want to be involved.

There is one more thing to consider, however. And that is the third word that sums up Flay. Justice. Flay is a gigantic fan of justice-- or more to the point, he is a fan of the idea of being an ally of justice and saving people from danger. Also see: Superhero. He holds this in extremely high regard. In fact, he likes the concept so much, when he realized there were no villains around, he became one himself so someone else could be the hero of justice and he could fight them. So, in a sense... You could say Flay is more a fan of the hero/villain dynamic than either particular side. At the end of the day though, it doesn't matter to him what alignment the team he's playing for at the moment is, he'll just want to be on the one that's more fun and interesting.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Physical prowess: He's strong. He's fast. And he knows it.
+ Stealthy as hell: He can appear from damn near anywhere. Even if it doesn't make sense that he would be there.
+ Skilled swordsman: With a sword as big as he is.
+ Sense of justice: He has one! Albeit a tad skewed.
- Sense of villainy: He has one of these as well. It is very ridiculous.
- Full of himself: Will never hesitate to think he's stronger than the person he's talking to. Enough so that he won't hesitate to intimidate them if need be.
- Quick to judge: Tends to immediately label people upon first meetings. I.E. He would call someone a villain just because they wear all black.
- Tends to talk like a villain more than a hero.

Gyaaaaaaaahahahahahaaaa!

Greetings, Johto dwellers! Today you should be feeling honored, as the great Duke of Darkness, Flay Gunnar, has arrived on the scene! But hold it right there, foolish viewer! You surely think to yourself, 'I've never head of this Duke of Darkness before'! Which is exactly what you should be thinking! Because now you have, which means the name has already spread far and wide across this 'network'.

Hmhmhm... It's all according to plan, you see. Once my name is known all across this land, I shall initiate... Gunnar's Secret Tactic #37! Don't you even dare ask what it entails! It's so secret, those involved do not even know about it yet! Heh heh heh... It will be something to look forward to, Johtoians!

... is that even the proper term? Bah! Who cares. It is what I have dubbed you all, thus it shall now be what is used! Got that, Johtoians? You are now required to use it at all times-- What?! It is most definitely not too difficult to say! If you have a complaint regarding this, seek out my underlings!

That is all for now, Johtoians! I will fill you in on further details as things progress! *CLICK*

Third Person Sample:

The place! Violet City. The time! A night so dark only the moonlight illuminates the streets. The man! Is standing atop a tall building, looking over his newest domain. Or rather, the domain he would be claiming in due time. These things take time, after all. For now, however, justice had come to Violet! Suddenly, a scream of terror cuts through the silent night like a hot knife through butter! The hero turns his head, a sly grin and booming laughter echoing as he notices where it came from! A villain! One with a horribly tacky R plastered upon his shirt and hat. There was tacky, and then there was just depressing.

"What pathetic manner of dress code is that?! Do you intend to announce your presence in such a boring way? Have you no sense of dramatics? I had heard this Team Rocket was a large group, yet a member settles to steal the balls of a young boy?!"

The Rocket couldn't help but stare at this display. I mean, really now. The guy was on a roof and posing. "Are you stupid or something? I'm out of here--"

"Not so fast, foolish Rocket!" With a flick of Flay's wrist, a Pokeball was sent flying down to the ground! In a display of both bravado and pure idiocy, the red haired hero swooped out his cape behind him and leaped from the rooftop! Fwoosh! With a few twirls in the air for good measure, the hero landed firmly upon his now materialized Rhydon in front of the Rocket! Sure, he let out a slight grunt at that due to the spikes on his mount, but like hell that would stop him from firmly placing hiss boot on the Rhyhorn's head and point dramatically at the Rocket.

"This is where you meet your maker, Rocket! Get ready to feel the full lethal force of Gunnar Horn! I'll leave you so broken your commanding officer won't even recognize you when they come to bail you out!" The rocket couldn't help but wince at all of that. Is this guy seriously supposed to be a hero? That's the kind of thing his boss would say. "Let's see you try it--"

Unfortunately, Flay often follows through on his promises of violence almost immediately. Which the rocket was now finding out first hand as the Rhyhorn had already plowed straight into him, carrying him along as Flay let out a villainous, yet triumphant laugh from atop the beast.

"Fool! You expected me to fight a cowardly grunt like you fair and square? When fighting one such as you, using underhanded tactics is the best method. If a foe is fighting dirty, the hero must in turn become more fiendish than the villain to one-up him! Are you listening, boy?! I'll give you-- Ah. He passed out."

With a foot tap to the top of the Rhyhorn's head, it screeched to a halt. Sending the stuck rocket sailing into the window of the conveniently located police station. A disgruntled Jenny quickly emerged, blowing her whistle at the hero. "You! This is the fifth time in the past two weeks! You're going to pay for the window this time, you know! I appreciate you bringing them in, do it normally next time or I'm going to start putting a warrant out for you!"

A booming laugh came from the rhino-ridin' hero. "Thanks are not necessary, officer! Now excuse me while I go return what that fiend stole!" With another firm tap to the top of the Rhyhorn's head, it did a quick U-turn, before rushing off full speed with Flay perched atop, continuing to laughing like a madman as he left the scene with a very peeved Jenny blowing her whistle at him.
