For stuff like this? It's all about the timing and placement of the sparkly bits afterwards, it's all gotta work together to show a story or be entertaining.

Not "oh look loud noises and pretty lights" that's just basic.

I have to agree. I'm not that fond of them, but I will agree if done correctly and controlled so that no one gets hurt, they could turn out to be very entertaining.

Of course, there is the other end of the spectrum and they are used for nothing more than the destruction of innocent lives.
