I came across this completely at random, so please excuse the comment-out-of-left-field from someone you've never talked to before ( ... )

Thank you so much for this comment. I agree with you wholeheartedly about Cursive and their influence on my portrayal of Tim. I'm so thankful it comes across properly.

Conor... I always see him as a little bit scared of the world, I think. And in his earlier work, there really was so much confusion about the state of things, and so much self-deprecation that it was almost impossible not to let it show through a little.

I really believe it's a lot easier to see Tim in his early/earlier Cursive stuff, and also his work with The Good Life.

I'm so glad you liked this. Thank you.

PS - Have you thought about joining Spitting Ink as a reviewer?

Admittedly, I've never been a huge Bright Eyes fan, and have been really bad about following Mr. Oberst's work recently, so I'll readily admit that my opinion on Tim is slightly more well-informed (as much as an opinion garnered from lyrics can be well-informed, haha). I'm definitely going to have to check out some of his older stuff, from before "Lifted...". :D

I haven't, but it sounds intriguing. What is it?

Oh, definitely do it. His first album, Water was recorded when he was like... 14. And it's adorably horrid.

The Spitting Ink Collective is a group of writers and readers. The writers write one 600+ word fic per week, about a given prompt (there are seven prompts to pick from). Other writers read and review the fics, so everyone gets a good amount of feedback. The reviewers are people who don't write for the community, but have taken on the responsibility of doing con-crit for the fics.

Thanks for taking the time to read it... twice, no less.
Her Space Holiday is sort of win.
