I don't think it's the big deal you seem to believe it is. Just exercise caution and be careful in how you phrase things. On the internet, how people judge you is relative to how you portray yourself. I know you're not a native English speaker, but this isn't about word choice; it's more about the kind of reasoning you show in whatever you say.

I think you ought to just forget about your first impression, put it behind you, and try to act sensible/polite from here on out. Of course the past can't be changed, but you don't have to keep doing the same old same old.
