On Friday,
morganie and I went bowling at the grand opening of
Strike with friends. A radio station was there, and Toni won tickets to a concert with
The Fray. The bowling, meanwhile, was delayed for about 45 minutes due to technical issues in our lane, and the music was painfully loud. As the night went on, the music got louder (in very noticeable, discrete bursts, rather than gradually as I would have expected), and we left.
So on Saturday we went to that concert. We considered not going, since we didn't recognize the name of the band, but upon further investigation it turned out that I recognized a few of their songs from the radio. The concert started at 7:30, but The Fray didn't show up on stage until 9:30 sharp. In that time, we got to listen to the two opening acts, Eisley and Gomez, who were shockingly underwhelming. The main act was good, though.
I also got to make use of the
full-spectrum earplugs that lower the volume evenly across the entire sound spectrum, which Toni got me for the very purpose of being able to enjoy loud events without worrying about worsening my tinnitus. Everything sounded good, and I was able to enjoy the entire concert without any discomfort.
As for Sunday, it has yet to happen. But we're going to be having lunch with some people from church; that should be good.
