We now have a "real" house, have for over 5 years now.
But I never forgot how snotty this church lady became once she heard we lived in a trailer. Suddenly, she was SOOO condescending and didn't like me and brought it up in front of other people (it seemed it was) to lower their opinion of me.
When we got our real house, I mentioned to someone we had moved and she said, "Oh, a double wide or just a longer trailer?"
As though "people like me" could never have a real house...
I know, I know, I need to forgive her.
In Africa, where I lived for a couple years, it took a whole year's salary of a nurse to buy a bicycle. True Poverty is in Africa. We, in our trailer, were actually rich if you compare us to that.
It just..she was "such a good Christian" but it made me think, according to tradition, Jesus was HOMELESS. Would she have loved Him in person either?
