Why torture yourself? I mean, I have not a shred of doubt whatsoever that you *could* do this without aid of chemicals, but why subject yourself to that level of misery if you have another choice

I totally know you are right. I am making a final try this weekend, and then I'm getting onto the patch bus. I refuse to backslide into smoking at work again.

Also, I am not sure anyone should be taught to drive by their mom, standard transmission or no. I remember a great deal of oh-shit-handle clutching my first few attempts around the block. Although having your teenage friends teach you probably isn't such a good idea either. I *still* don't drive stick, but the only time I did I was taken onto a backcountry road in Vermont and advised to just give a try. I think I almost died of fright.
