I wish I did. it's sad, really. I've lost touch with everyone who stayed. I'm glad things seem to be going well for you so far though! come hang out in tokyo and then you'll not only be metropolitan, you'll be internationale. on an even greater scale than before. er, you know what I mean.
ADSL is so nice and everywhere in Japan... I hate living in a spacious country where everything is more than 2 miles away from a telephone switch.
For TV, I recommend Matthew's Best Hit Generation, which is the crazy blonde austin powers host who was on Lost in Translation. He usually has pop stars as his guest and the man is a comic genius. If I remember correctly, it came on Tuesday nights around 11pm on NHK. http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/besthittv/contents/000/current/toppage/ Oops, Wednesdays at 11:15pm according to the web site.
yeah I like that guy too. okama make me so happy I want to cry, they are like uber-mothers. anyway I'll definitely check the schedule.
as far as dorama go, I'm on a disability/terminal illness roll. I have seen: 1) koukou kyoushi 2004 (brain tumor + everyone is psycho anyway) 2) orange days (deaf, but tragically, also a violinist) 3) beautiful life (wheelchair + terminal illness!) 4) sekai no chushin de ai wo sakebu (dead) <- this show sucks, I actually didn't enjoy the first episode at all and don't plan on watching any more. can't see what the fuss is. but I guiltily enjoyed the others.
but now I'm watching "kimi wa petto" and enjoying that the most so far. I also just started "shota no sushi" and am already addicted. to endless footage of sushi.
I'll check those out.. shota no sushi sounds especially promising. Recently I've been watching the Investigator Mariko series, which is like a low budget Japanese version of CSI. The science is sometimes dubious, like the part where Mariko studies phrenology to build a psychological profile of the killer. Also I've been enjoying "At Home Dad"...
