by now yr probably hard-wired to skip th entry whenever you see this icon. but i promise, it's got cool stuff at th end. :D

someone still loves you boris yeltsin - broom
th lemonheads - come on feel
explosions in th sky - live at cafe du nord (from indiechristoph)
tori amos - american doll posse (yesss it leaked)
bjork - volta (another leak)
a handful of sunset rubdown
a fistful of pulp
cain & abel - up north
goblin cock - bagged & boarded
cornelius - self-titled
low - th great destroyer
& oh oh oh elliott smith - new moon (!!)

what is interesting is i have only heard one song off these albums, & it was sampling that song that pushed me to download th rest of th album. these are songs you like right away, on yr first spin, songs that make you stop what yr doing (in my case, writing a paper) & sit up.

this may be a case of biting off more than one can chew. yet another case, i meant.

so far i'm liking someone still loves you boris yeltsin, goblin cock, pulp, & of course th undying asplosions. there's nothing new in that rip, but it's always interesting to compare live performance to studio. i have yet to form an opinion on this topic.

i left my lali puna running & it registered a hundred & seventy plays on my last.fm. fascinating.

she's barefoot! & so goddamn cute! :D

i read on boingboing about her show at coachella, & th mindblowing equipment she's been using. one of these is th reactable. react + table.

"reactable: basic demo #1" on Google Video

The reactable, is a multi-user electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible user interface. Several simultaneous performers share complete control over the instrument by moving physical objects on a luminous table surface. By moving and relating these objects, representing components of a classic modular synthesizer, users can create complex and dynamic sonic topologies, with generators, filters and modulators, in a kind of tangible modular synthesizer or graspable flow-controlled programming language.

in short, it's a glowing table you put things on & then you move them about & they make sound. :3 play that video!

wait for th sampler/metronome bit. o god it's beautiful. then at around 3:08 i wanted to cry haha

imagine using this with yr friends. imagine introducing this to yr friends.

i wish i had been born fifteen years later. my filthy rich parents would buy me one of these & my childhood would be spent fooling around with it then i'd grow up to become bjork.

eta: another video: line-in & voice control!
