I really hate Facebook. Seems like it decides to break every other day. My favorite is the "click a link, then reload the page to actually go to it" followed swiftly by the "why am I getting a certificate error when I go to Mafia Wars?" one.
All that said, you'll be getting a request from Rory Nashville.
I have to agree with the comment by yzzy comment above, from what little I've seen of and used FB, it does rather seem to be "just toys and chatter."
Often, I don't feel like making any lengthy entries there as a "note" (not that many would read such long posts anyway (you get cake, minus the death for that)). And any updates I see are usually game focused or little blurbs, I'm more interested in what's going on with people with some degree of depth, which sites like FB and Twitter seem keen on smashing and bashing such things like the Hulk on speed.
I haven't decided on how best to try and keep my separate LJ identities straight (and separate), were I to migrate to FB for those on there I'm fond of. Because some know me in, shall we say, perhaps another light than others would. Trixy, muchly. But have been pondering adding a alternate FB accounts of if possible to make things a little...smoother.

Yeah, I prefer LJ too, but a lot of the expats I keep in touch with are FB only.
