I would appreciate it, however, if both candidates would make the effort to come up with new exaggerations and lies instead of rehashing the old ones.

Seriously! I was like, "Wasn't this debate supposed to address different issues than the last one?"

They still have one debate left to rehash their worn-out crap. Unless they come up with new crap in the next week or so to run into the ground. *wishes it was Nov. 4 already, come on.*

Forget *my* intelligence -- I've grown tired of their contempt for intelligence in general. Not that I have anything against Joe Six-Pack, but when did it become desireable for our leaders to have no more than the most average amount of intelligence? And when did it become elitist to use one's intelligence to help the people who are actually in trouble?

(*sigh*)

I totally agree on the "same old bullshit" thing though. I've been following this campaign pretty closely, but by the end of last night's debate I had turned down the volume and was reading LJs. I wasn't in the mood for reruns. The only new thing that came up was something about McCain wanting to help people pay their mortgages -- but he didn't explain at all how that would work...

The problem is that "let's spend $300 billion more on helping the homeowners" suggestion flies in the face of 26-years of voting from McCain, so I'm highly suspicious that it's bullshit pandering. Also, it's not that popular. The people who are actually in trouble will love it, but the majority (though not as large as it should be) of Americans who bought homes they could afford will still be pissed at having to pay for other people's irresponsbility.

Unpopular and pandering. I think he's desperate.
