Birthday gift advice

So I've been compiling a list of things that look interesting for first birthday gifts for Alice and Ben. But I don't know what (or how much, to be honest) to get them. Anyone want to offer their two cents?

So they liked the snake? It was really high on my list until my mom said that I never played with pull toys. But it's so cute.

Thanks for the warning on the combo sand and water table. We'll stick to one or the other. Makes total sense now that you say it.
