Virtue?

On Saturday, I worked for about 4 hours sorting books for project Cicero. I did this because my school requires a certain number of hours of community service to graduate, even though I do not believe in forced community service becuase I believe that manditory volunteering is an oxymoron. If you don't believe in the community service requirement, I'm not sure I understand why you opted against undermining the system...

I guess you did the right thing because you have integrity, but if you disagree with the system then it shouldn't matter whether you cheat the system or not.

nah, even if you undermine a system that you hate, you're down to its level. Even if you don't believe, you should choose something you support and do the full work anyway to show them you have even more virtue than they try to force into you
