In Spain, and delighted to have left the dozens of cms of snow back in Germany and Finland. Having the same temp, except for the pesky minus sign is nice too.

Hehe. :) I know what you mean. I can imagine how good getting rid of the minus sign must feel after having spent so long in Finland of all places!! How did you survive there, I wonder... And it's not just the cold, but also the non-existing daylight! The weather here is also quite perfect for this time of the year, actually. So what are you doing in Espanha (España)?

The light situation in Finland was very surprisingly not bad at all! Every day last winter was very cold and very clear, and there was plenty of reflective white snow on the ground. The 3 or 4 or 5 hours of day that there were very sunny and bright. Winter light was a good deal worse in Vienna, where a great dark cloud hung low over the city from late November until March. Many days you needed to have the lights on all day to work.

But the snow and ice? That I could seriously do without. There was a day in Jan in Helsinki that was -27, very windy, and snowing little sharp ice crystals. I had a lovely 2km walk through a park uphill to get to the department from the train station. If I strayed off the path a little, then I'd sink waist deep into the snow. Snow in my boots, snow in my pants. "Good" to experience once, I guess, but....

We were visiting my parents in Barcelona. But now we are back in snow covered Schwaben visiting the other parents. :/
