I just went to Tully's for my afternoon jolt of coffee and, while waiting, I overhear a girl say to her friend:

"Well, we *were* friends...and then we were lovers...and now we're enemies!"

I burst out laughing right there on the spot! Indeed, that relationship progression seems to be a common one...   ;)

I didn't spend a lot of time inspecting her, but I'd guess she was a 20 something. She looked more mature than an adolescent, for sure. And we'll just never know how close of friends she was to her ex-lover/now-enemy

In my experience, only those individuals willing to grow up and mature can develop the abilities to be friends, lovers, and work out differences to a mutually agreeable outcome. I am washimg my hands of fucked up puppies who don't wanna grow up, and I include both genders here.

It sucks I tell you, when are they gonna grow up and play nice?

I think the trick is finding people who are already grown up. It just so happens that's *really* hard to do! WAAAY too many fucked up puppies out there...

Yeah, they heard me laughing and looked over and laughed too -- they caught the hilarity of the moment! I walked out as I was laughing, so there was no further exchange.

And you're *always* welcome to have coffee with me, Os! Let me know when you're in downtown Berkeley on the weekdays and we'll arrange a pow-wow. (that goes for everyone on here too!)
