The Confluences of Life

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would catch my journal up on what's happening in my life. Tomorrow night, or rather tonight since it is after midnight, will be my first appearance as Eddie at a regular WUT show. I'm fairly certain it will go off decently but I'm still quite nervous about it ( Read more... )

Dude; your first attempt at performing the part of Eddie showed potential. I can remember seeing how you were trying hard to "play to the back row" in how you emoted the character; and for the most part, ya succeeded.

One thing that still needs work, however, are the lifts with Columbia. It may seem fairly easy to do...until you are reminded of how your dance partner is not a mere "dead weight" you can effortlessly control in the air. Tossing around a sack o'potatoes is not difficult--if you can lift that much weight--since it hardly moves on its own. A Columbia is different; and the less familiar she is with her Eddie, the more likely she'll be to move/shift at the wrong times...thus making it harder for the Ex-Delivery Boy to do his job.

Whomever is going to be your Columbia most often should be the person you practice with. And I mean: rehearse with each other until you are tired of each other! Familiarity may breed contempt, but it will also make the other person's actions seem like second nature to you...and the end ( ... )

I realize that the lifts are difficult. Of course practicing on the concrete floor outside of Lexx's apartment is far different than performing on a bouncey wooden stage. I just wasn't prepared for how high I was able to propel Lexx for the first lift. When she came down, I became unbalanced and was unable to get her up very high on the second lift. I wish I could have practiced with her on the stage before the show but she was terribly busy.
