I've been home for over a week now, and it's starting to feel like I never left at all. Which is both good and bad, I suppose. I came home because - among other things - Mum said that people had been calling for me, and, as it turns out, they wanted to offer me a job. So now I'm working for UNIT, one of those secret organisations in charge of defending the Earth from aliens. (And how many of those exist, anyway? Does every country have one, plus the UN? I suppose I'll learn soon enough.) It's not the same as working in a hospital, but I like it. It worries Mum, though. She wants me to move back home again, so she can keep an eye on me...but I worked so hard to convince her that I'd be safe on my own. Just because I've been hanging round the Doctor - Doctors, I suppose - and now I've got a new job, well, she's worried about my safety. And I understand why, really, but I need to be on my own.

Anyway, turns out that I'm working with one of the Doctor's old companions, a bloke named Harry. I'm beginning to think that they're everywhere! God, I'm not even on Ophara anymore, and I'm still running into them. Still, better them than a constant string of evil aliens. Everything I've had to analyse and dissect and test so far has been completely benign, at least as far as we can tell. Speaking of which, I've got another alien autopsy after lunch - something scaly, no doubt, which is definitely enough to make a girl steer clear of fish and chips.

*gets her sandwich and starts eating*
