yeah, i know exactly what you mean about shiny around the edges. i have seen them three times, opening for shows, and everytime i say to myself:

'MY GOD HOW DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP GETTING GIGS?'

and the happy bullets are fun. they are friends/labelmates with the TAH DAHs, have you heard them? they are equally as awesome and fun.

Andy's up and down mood was about 88% fear of what Andy knew was coming later in the evening (morning). However, The Happy Bullets and the Mates of State did make for an unforgettable evening which did help soften and cushion much of what would happen later. It was an excellent escape.

Andy's Heavy Hearted Confidant

p.s. - Andy issued this quote for release:

"They didn't play 'Separate the People' or 'A Duel Will Settle This' so in that sense Mates of State (or 'M of State') kind of sucked. I plan on starting a letter writing campaign. And as I watch the new Tommy Hilfiger commercial set to the song 'Start the Revolution' or whatever, I get very angry but can't pull away from all the attractive people, so my anger is sent in yet another direction. To sum it up, Mates get a 119 out of 100."
