maybe Netherlands??? (I'm taking my foot out of my mouth)

Well, I've just read that after the first of the new year, the Netherlands will have open borders for EU workers! This means that Weronika and I are reconsidering our dislike for Amsterdam and thinking of relocating. In defense of the about-face that we may be doing, I liked Amsterdam for the beauty and architecture and such, but I just didn't ( Read more... )

Don't you dare go back to the US... don't you fucking DARE!

I won't have it.

A [Polish] friend of mine's going to Denmark next year, have you thought about there?

"Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen..."

Actually I've wanted to see Copenhagen for a very long time, but there seems to be so many other places on our lists to go to first :(

I've heard that Copenhagen is dreadfully boring, but that was just one friend's opinion (he lived and worked there for a while).

If you can, I'd give Amsterdam a whirl before seriously looking into moving to the US.

I'm damn jealous of your country being in the EU.

Avoid the US. Seriously.

Besides, it is hellish to try and get a spousal visa, almost as bad as a fiance visa. She'd also need a sponsor, who would have to pay for her upkeep even if the two of you divorce (for something like five years, I think?).

I mostly want to avoid the U.S., but unfortunately we're bombarded constantly with comments like: "Why are you still in Poland?" "Are you moving back to the U.S." The people here make it seem like paradise. Granted I like to think I know better and what it's REALLY like, but...it's just difficult not knowing what you want to do.

How will you avoid all these tourists in Amsterdam? :p

I love Amsterdam. And it's true that it seems like a good option. Everyone speaks good English there. That's what I was always impressed by. Even 50 year old ladies at the subway ticket offices spoke good English.

and these canals... and bicycles... *sigh*
