So I was a big dork this weekend. Friday night was our show (suite) and it was a lot of fun, but what sucked was that while everyone was boozin' it up and bein' all, "Woohoo! showwww!! Yeah, party time!!" I had my token beer and was like alright fellas, time to go home so I can sleep for 4 fuckin' hours before going to work tomorrow, AWESOME.

Debating is good for the soul.

The older people get the less they want to debate.

The younger and less jaded people like to debate everything.

The problem with this is
A. Most young people don't really know shit about life but think they know it all.
B. Older people thought they knew it all at one time but over time have realized they were wrong about everything they thought was right. Therefore they usually come to the mind set of "fuck it, what ever is gonna happen is gonna happen and I'm not going to make a difference anyway".

Every now and then you may run in to someone who is not jaded or stupid and that's the ones you should listen to.

i totally agree, you just said it a lot better than i could have...i think im at some weird in-between stage right now, although i find myself usually leaning towards not even bothering...a lot of it depends on who is involved, if it's a good debate with respectful, intelligent people involved, then im more apt to jump in (there's nothing more irritating than arguing with people who are the way Wes is with baseball arguments)

since "retiring" from the music scene, i tend to avoid any possible human contact at all. but whenever some cat gets all up in my face with his/her problems, i'll listen and then probably state the obvious "you're being a moron" or "kick that shit to the curb". it's rare that i have to break out the "i dunno...go fly a kite or something" line, but there are people that get at me who i know won't figure it out no matter what i say. they don't like it? bfs. don't ask me questions. i'm too old to be dealing with this stuff anyway.

and i'm totally NOT wrong about anything. i still have ALL the answers, even at 28, 38, 78, whatevermany years old. you name it, i'm still right.

i'd love to be more confrontational. but i never ended up becoming some shirtless myspacer, so it won't do me any good now.

that's my crappy two cents. sorry. i'll get leslie to debate my arguments for me next time.
