LJ Maintenance

I'm thinking of making some changes to my journal. I've been meaning to for a while, but as with so many of my idle "that's a good idea, I should do that" plans, I haven't followed through on it. As of now, I'm thinking of doing the following:

APPEARANCEI like light text on dark backgrounds, and though it's a prohibitively huge pain in the ass ( Read more... )

To be perfectly honest, I enjoy reading your (and other people's) thoughts.

That's pretty much it, nothing of interest to add. :P

Me too, but there must be things that are more interesting or thought/response provoking than others. That's the sort of info I'm looking for.

Why are you reading this? because you're sort of an important person in my life as a result of your parentage.

What sorts of posts (in general) do you enjoy reading? in gneral? i most enjoy the posts of my lj friends that i don't know irl-- they're always doing fun and exciting things. Of your posts, I enjoy most all of them because you're sort of a strange bird, and I am still trying to figure you out.

What sorts of posts do you tend to comment on? i used to comment on all of them, but now i only comment when something makes me excited or i can offer advice or if i am really moved by something.

How does LJ layout/color/presentation/style affect your likelihood to read or reply to entries, if at all? in your case, it doesn't. i read your journal on my flist, which is set up to display my way, which i really like. when i am cruising new journals, it is important that the text be small enough but not too big and the colors can't clash in a way that's hard to read.

Any suggestions for making this journal more interesting/ ( ... )

Thanks for the input. As I said, I'm working on changing the focus of this journal, because my posts aren't "for me" as much as they used to be. I want interaction, discussion, greater readership, but on my terms, and this is a very feeble start to bringing that about. "On my terms", in this case, means "that I don't have to work very hard to get or maintain", which may be a lot to ask for, but I'm doing so anyway. :)
