What do YOU want?

May 25, 2005 12:18

A recent (obnoxious) NYT op/ed piece, combined with seeing some of those silly "X-number-of-things-that-one-gender-should-know-about-the-other" recently enough to remember, gave me reason to post this.

"What do women want?", "What do men want?", "What you should know about the opposite sex!", "Who wears short shorts?"1... walk past a magazine rack ( Read more... )

So this begs the question:

"What do you, Dave, want?"

What anyone with any sense wants:

The freedom and funding to do whatever I happen to want to do, whenever I happen to want to do it.

If you want to know something, ASK.

It boggles the mind for me too. I've always just asked, but then I'm a pretty simple creature.

Besides which, it strikes me as rather disrespectful to assume that the other gender is all alike, and therefore the secret to what your gf really wants for her birthday will be revealed in the latest issue of Cosmo.

I thought the whole point of these things is that they ask hundreds or thousands of folk - more than I could ask easily myself.*

Just an interesting thing to see... "hrm. it seems women tend towards wanting xxxxxx' or 'folk seem to tend towards having sex xxxxxxxx times'.

Maybe it's just me but I find big surveys like that kinda interesting.

Opinion-pieces? Yeah, they're a load of rubbish.
