spreading my love through my song
'I would walk 500 miles,'
It was hard, putting all his thoughts into this song. It was going to be the song of a lifetime. The song that would finally show Natalie how he felt about her. He hadn't been able to sleep for days -- ever since he'd admitted to himself that he loved her, he hadn't been able to think about anything else.
'And I would walk 500 more,'
Everything that he wanted to say and more was going to be right here. He didn't know how she would react to it; he had to worry that she would run away. But he couldn't hold in those words anymore. They were spilling out, and there was nothing that he wanted more than to have her feel the same way.
'Just to be the man who walked 5,000 miles,
To fall down at your door.'
The final word was penned on the parchment, and Jason smiled.
It wasn't as elequent as a symphony. It wasn't as elaborate as an opera -- but it held the truth. It held everything that he felt.
And instead of bringing it out to the front counter for her to see, he slipped it into his pocket. He would show her, but not now. It wasn't time. "Jason, what're you doing back there?" he heard the question, and smiled brighter.
"Just thinking about taking a walk!"
