Suarentauro festival, writeup starts

Jun 01, 2009 09:37

I've been thinking since last night about how to write this up. I'm swollen, dog-tired, and kind of dazed. But I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. It was truly wonderful. Having worked on this for well over a year, and having done a much shorter version of it last year, to see it come to fruition was extraordinarily gratifying. ( Read more... )

Incredibly appropriate. It was actually a pack of snakes hunting together, if you can believe that. Never seen anything like it. Black snakes all, so I'm glad to have them around. I caught two and moved them along, but of course didn't kill them.

SO much more to post, this is just the tip of it. Hard to describe how incredible it was.

Wow, that all sounds fantastic! I'm so impressed with this ritual that you've worked so hard on. I love the attention to detail. And how wonderful to have a group to celebrate it with!

A year and a half of work, more or less. Last Summer I took a break and was just collecting sources, but it took that long to get it all together.

The end result has been fantastic, in some respects better than I'd hoped. Day 2 was just full of awesomeness, as I'll post later.

Thank you! Glad to see the work shining through. And it was a tremendous group of people that worked with me and shared this with me. It made a huge difference.

Different track here, but I have a question. Were you doing the Apollon oracles on Saturday?

No, I did them on Sunday night.

Just one correction - I was there just before Briar, not as early as you make it seem. Always late, that's me! :)

As an aside, I love watching black snakes hunt, especially when they're young enough to still hunt as a pack! So cool!

Like I said, it's blurry after awhile. I'm amazed I remember as much as I do!

Yea, these were big but not full-grown snakes, so they were hunting in a group. I'd not seen it before but it was wild to realize that's what was happening. Always fun to catch them too, and then talk with them. :)

The first night conversations were most entertaining - a very busy droops consistently popped in just as amazing "punchlines" were uttered, which when evaluated completely out of context were even more outrageous - WHOOT!!!! And his initial reactions were priceless!

Those were hysterical. Much discussion of boobies. Can't beat that. ;)
