Now, Here's a Bitch

Dec 30, 2009 02:23

Veeeeeery few things in life get me really well and truly pissed off (the Westboro Baptist Church is one, but this ain't about that).

There's this girl, over on deviantART, and apparently y!Gallery too, who goes around giving what she thinks is 'constructive criticism' to people ( Read more... )

This is very much a case of the difference between constructive criticism and just plain criticism. I've always said that how you say something is every bit as important as what you're saying. But she's never going to get that because she doesn't care. She gets off on feeling superior and more important than the people she's criticizing. I'm sorry you had to have it come down on you like this, though. :(

We're trying to find out how to report her for what she's doing because its happened to so many of us. But it is that problem of constructive criticism vs just plain criticism.

I wouldn't be so damn pissed off if she hadn't made my friend cry and also commented on my other friend's work too.

Jesus Christ, this ass needs to back the fuck off. When it gets to the point where she's making people cry and doesn't even give a damn, there's a fucking problem with how you're saying something, even if some of what she said is true.

Can I hunt him/her down and skin 'em alive? It'd be great therapy if you want to come along. :>

She doesn't know she made my friend cry. I found that out later from my friend herself. She apparenty locked herself in the bathroom and had a mini-breakdown about it. Sounds a tiny bit pathetic but you'd have to understand her circumstances really.

Still, doesn't change the fact this bitch made Terra cry!

Still, even if there are extenuating circumstances involved, making someone cry ain't cool. She needs to tone it down. 'Course, like was said above, s/he probably only cares about the superiority factor. >_> God, I'm glad I'm not active on my dA account or I'd be targeted. ~_~

Troll in the dungeon!!!

Yeah, sorry for this random comment, you don't know me, but I was going through the friends page of nickxellis and I just had to say something after reading your post.

I read through her comments (what a meanie!) and then checked out her own deviantART gallery. And wow, if there's someone who deserves all her criticism about anatomy, shading etc. it's she herself. I left her a relatively polite comment about the lack of coloring in her work, and now I'm curious to see if she'll come and bash my gallery too. I don't mean to brag or anything, but I'd be a little surprised if she does because I have mad skills compared to her.

Also, she seems to be obsessed with anatomy! Me thinks someone once told her the anatomy in her own drawings sucks and it was such a huge blow to her ego that now she goes around dissing the anatomy in other people's drawings, just to get revenge.

I'm really sorry for your friend :( But this person is clearly a troll and knowing this makes me feel so much better:

I believe that most trolls are ( ... )

She makes me so angry just reading this >:[[

I'm very sorry that she made your friend cry and that you guys have to deal with a little bitchy troll like her. Like everyone has suggested, the best thing to do is to just ignore her. She is obviously doing this for attention and from what I've read it doesn't matter what you tell her, she's not going to listen.

And I'd like to say this before I shut up. Your art and everyone else's art that she "criticized" is WAAAY better then her own art. She's more than likely jealous which is why she continues to be a bitch and why she won't even update her own DA with new drawings.

Nope, not over-reacting. Those comments are clearly hurtful. Plus, if you want to give constructive criticism, you start (or end) by mentioning what's good about the picture/writing...
