Worried About Money

I took a pretty hefty paycut last September when my Fellowship ended, and it's finally catching up to us. (I suppose technically it turns out it was a much less hefty paycut than I'd thought because they weren't taking taxes out of the Fellowship. Wasn't THAT A joy to find out when I filed taxes ( Read more... )

:( I'm sorry. Brock and I have been meaning to get you guys the money for D&D nights - he's had a twenty in his wallet for like ever now. X(

I've offered to Liz, already, but if you need us to host Friday/Saturday games, Brock and I are more than happy to. Just say the word. I can't promise that the food will be as exciting as what you guys provide, though.

Everything will work out alright in the end!

Additionally, while it's on my mind, I figured I'd offer, even though it's sort of a weird thing to offer:

Eating in is a lot cheaper than eating out, even when you're feeding more than just two people (though not necessarily when you're feeding six XD;). Brock and I were talking about it, and if you guys want to come over for an eat-in dinner every once in a while, outside of D&D, (once every couple of weeks? once a week? whatever.) that would be cool.
It'd give Brock and I a reason to actually cook and buy groceries and do the dishes and keep the apartment presentable. XD And it would save money for all of us.

But, uh, yeah. If there's anything we can do to help, we're here for you guys!!!

Eating out is actually the big thing we can cut easily. We are planning to start packing lunches, but yeah, most of the eating out we do is with friends or to get out of the apartment to work on homework. (I have a real issue concentrating at home for some reason.)

So I guess what I'm saying is that YES, we would love to be able to get together with people without eating out! It's exactly as you said -- even feeding a group is often cheaper than eating out for two.

We usually keep stuff around for a meal that can be thrown together quickly if people come over, but if it works better for you to set up something more formal, than that's an option too. :3

Like I said, it'd definitely give us a reason to live a less swinging bachelor pad lifestyle (not that I dislike our way of living 8D It'd just be nice if we were more responsible). We can talk about it more in person sometime. XD
