A little touch of green in the winter

Went to Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus today to stall the near-end of winter blues. I didn't bring the camera this time around, but I thought I'd post some photos I've taken on past visits.

The full Chihuly collection returns on July 4th and will stick around for a couple months. You can, of course, visit before then but there's not much to do in wintry Ohio. Believe it or not, there is some skiing available. Silly Ohio.

yep. Pretty much anything west of Mount Vernon is really flat, but we've got hills to the east and south of us - just on the edge of the western Appalachians.

July sounds good. I bet it will be gnuts there for the first few weekends. What's Doug's schedule like? Will you drag him along or will Presence of Cat make his sinuses think twice?

Yep! The exhibit a couple years ago (2005?) was so popular that funds were raised to keep it as a permanent installation. I'm amazed at what Chihuly can do with glass. I've even been to his home base in Tacoma, Washington when I lived in Olympia. I thought I had more pictures uploaded somewhere but I guess not...
