Blind Date, and other prospects

So, Elizabeth and I went on our double blind date on Saturday evening. We met up with the two guys we'd been assigned at a coffee shop in Hollywood, and ended up chatting for a little over an hour. Conversation topics ranged between Star Trek and Star Wars, movies, dating in general, and various other things. One of the guys was a total geek, ( Read more... )

trust me: it's always better to know. It's completely immature to just "not email him". Be an adult and let him know that you're not interested...most guys don't pick up on these types of things. I'm not saying string him along, but it's infinitely crueler to never tell him...

I don't want to sound overly harsh, but it's way better to be upfront with him than to let him draw his own conclusions from silence. Think about how you'd feel if the positions were reversed...wouldn't you rather know that the guy wasn't interested in you at all, so you could just move on?

What I *should* have done was have the blind dating site send the guy a message, as it offered to when it asked if I wanted it to give him my contact info. Now I've lost that chance, and the only way to message him is to do it through my e-mail, which gives him that address. Ahh, well, I don't think he's a stalker or anything.

You can always set a rule for your emailer to send his messages to the junk box if it becomes a problem...

If you need help with any OKC profiling (as in, help with writing yours), I'll gladly give advice!

I actually met my current boyfriend on there...although we tried dating when we first met, it didn't work out, we stayed friends, tried dating again, and it's working out a lot better now.

I've also made a few friends from the site too. Regardless, good luck! :)

I just cut and pasted my profile from the geek dating site I was on (well, I guess I'm still on it, I just don't go there anymore, lol). If you want to see what I wrote, my sn on OkCupid is the same as my AIM sn/e-mail.

And I'm glad to hear that it's worked out so well for you so far!
