This one time, on a beach, with the sun setting... uh...

not uber beautiful, and unrevised, but here's a poem i wrote today:

She was never what you’d call
a beautiful girl.
With her awkward posture
and imperfect body.

But as she walked by
Louis Armstrong sang,
to an innocent bystander,
about a wonderful world

Like a scene from a movie,
her hair fell in her face,
just before she lifted her head
to smile at him.

And for that brief moment
before he came to his senses,
he was in love with those grey-blue eyes,
hidden behind dark plastic frames.
