Jan 22, 2011 09:16

This story is a sequel to maderr's fairytale, "The Knight of the Rose." Written with permission as a little gift for her and all the awesome ladies at Less Than Three Press.

Note: I am not nearly as accomplished a write as any of those awesome ladies, but I had fun with these boys, and I hope you do too. :)

So cute! ^___________^ I love that searching for his honor brought him to David even though that wasn't really what he was looking for. I love David and his stubborn, cranky refusal to really say more than is necessary, and that he doesn't want to admit to weakness at all, and I like that he's a half-orc, too, that's just awesome.

You are awesome, ffs. <33333

Oh, that was AWESOME!! I love how Tristan handled his failure. I love that he set out to be a better knight and circling back to what he'd wanted when he'd set out to be a knight. I like how you can see that he'd just gotten lost in the pomp and circumstance of being a knight.

I also love how true he decided to keep to the ideals of what it meant to be a knight and I love how he stood up for David and put up with David even when David was annoying the crap out of him, and I adore how David calls him out on some of that and helps him do the right thing just to do the right thing.

And I completely and utterly LOVE the way that he fantasized at first about David being a cursed prince, but that he came to realize in the end that he didn't need David to be cursed because David was already pretty damned perfect as he was. That was just the best ending. ^______________________^

You so totally rock. <333333333

*blushes* omg thank you! Those are pretty much all my goals with the story--to show that he just kinda got lost along his way, but he really WAS a good guy with the best intentions, and he wanted that back. And, yeah, when I was writing up the outline I thought the perfect twist would be the fantasy/realization scenario--I mean, what's better than realizing what you have while you still have it? :3 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! *glomps*

Awww, poor Tristan. I'm really happy he managed to find himself again, though - and find love, too.

Good job!
