i replaced my ipod like a month ago and now the new one is dead my computer won't detect it i tried to soft reset and hard reset and no dice i just get a blank screen
i've had the forty gig one for a year (4th gen, click wheel without fancy screen and stuff) it died earlier this year when i tried to keep it from erasing itself as all of my music was stored on it and nowhere else so i had it replaced about a month ago. now it's dead.
how's the new model? i'm hoping they give me a new one.
It's good. It scratches easily so go buy a PDA screen protector to put over the screen. Other than that, no probs. The video is a big pain in the ass to convert if you don't want to buy Quicktime Pro. iPod will only play Mp4, or .Mov. And most converters screw up the sound syncing. Oh well, I'll figure it out. Music videos work well, just the longer stuff gets screwed up. I just have a couple of Okkervil videos, and lots of music.
ohh right on. i hope i get one of those, i've been waiting for a video option for forever.
are you on windows or a mac? i can probably help you with the conversion issues (and it's also very easy to register quicktime pro, but that might be illegal).
