I am the Grinch's complete lack of surprise

Nov 15, 2008 22:15

So my firm has canceled Christmas this year. Specifically the end of year "Seasonal" party.

I can't say I was expecting otherwise. Though apparently they are "encouraging" local teams and groups to hold their own events. I wonder if I can arrange any budget funding for my small team of 3, and if so, what should I organise?

With families? Guess there wont be much call for getting riotously drunk and playing naked midnight golf on the Palms course then?

Actually, we've been asked to never come back to at least one hotel I know of.

With just the three of you, you could always arrange a snowboarding excursion! On the other hand, you can always sit in a pub and get shit-faced together. Remember, there's safety in numbers! ; )

it's not getting shitfaced in a pub, it's a strategic analysis of his unit's activities with an eye to increasing productivity.

while getting shitfaced in a pub.

What a classy guy! At least couch it in terms that we can appreciate, such as "we'll enhance the performance of our *units* and demonstrate *rising* productivity through interactive modalities." ; p

Snap, my firm announced they thought it wouldn't be suitable in the current economic climate to throw a piss up in the west end for 500 or so people.

But on the plus side, I guess that is an extra solicitor's yearly salary saved!

3 of you - get shitfaced while snowboarding?

Oscar too! The problem is that banks just don't know how to throw a party on a budget. It can be done!

Just leave early and go to the pub yah?
