Just how dead is LiveJournal? I can go and catch up on a week of posts in an hour, on a busy day. It used to be that it would take a few hour just to catch up on the days posts ( Read more... )

I still read here daily. I probably comment more than I post though. The same seems to apply to lots of people. Trying to fix that.. what I miss about Livejournal is that I can go to any date and see what it was I was doing that day. Except for the last year or so, where I'd be lucky to find out what I was up to as I've been so slack at updating. Facebook, on the other hand, is riddled with daily updates from me. Wish there was some way to archive them.

I find more community feel over on Dreamwidth.

As far as divisions go, I use twitter as slowboat IRC (i.e., drop in/out random chat), facebook for social gossip/events management.

If I want substantial discussion or have something substantive to actually say then I post to DW (and xpost to LJ). It doesn't get a huge amount of immediate comment, usually, but there's usually some, and I'm fine with that.

I often feel, as well, that I'm engaging in an act of self-gratification with my posts, but then those whose reactions or thoughts are of most interest to me usually comment anyways and it still serves as a means of staying in touch with those persons and their daily lives. I've reconciled to the fact that I'm not on the same wavelength as "the masses," so if they ignore me, fine and dandy. I, for one, would miss your presence here on LJ. I know that many LJers are switching over to Dreamwidth, but I still feel comfortable here.

Lots of people have been asking the same thing lately (rather than getting on and actually posting). I still write in mine and would totally read your stuff if you started writing again.

I have loads more to say on this subject but I just rolled out of bed; more later maybe xx
