Izaya loses:
- His voice, taking away his ability to manipulate others with speech
And/OR
- His eyesight, causing heightened vulnerability

anon wonders what his interactions with others would be after that ^^ anon also doesn't mind if there are pairings or not but loves shizaya to death

Thirded!

I'd rather have him lose his voice though. Losing his eyes would mean less enjoyable smut for Izaya. X)

I prefer if he lost his voice more if it were plot-ish related
But smut can go many, many delicious ways without sight >:D And if it were b-both ♥
I NEED THIS TO THE EXTREME ♥♥

A rather technical question anonymous June 28 2010, 08:02:19 UTC
Does anyone know much about medical conditions for permanent voice loss here? I did a little bit of my research, but I'd really appreciate it if somebody who knows this topic or did more research can help me.

As far as I know, it's possible to lose voice completely because of injuries. Does it make sense, then, Izaya gets injured and loses his voice because of something like an assault, a violent fight, or a failed hit?

Or do you prefer disease? (This can be a problem, because I really don't know ANYTHING about diseases...)

P.S. Yes, I might fill it, but plz don't wait for me because I'm SLOW... and I'm totally OK if anyone fill this before me. In fact I'd love to read it :)

Well I think there are at least four ways to become permanently unable to talk ( ... )

Also, while these conditions make you unable to talk ie. say anything that makes sense, they don't really take away your voice as such.

It isn't easy in general to permanently loose the ability to make sounds.

I'd go with tongue removal for that, in fact, though that doesn't happen on its own. Though you can bite it off if you're epileptic and very unlucky.

Can Celty talk anyway? Because it sure doesn't stop her from communicating.

she needs to type up the words though, it's a lot slower and harder for izaya to mess up with people's minds like that (at least, I think so.. it's like he can do anything o_o)

I might actually try this one out :) Working on a draft now, if I find the outcome pass-able, I'll post it XD

Going with the loss of sight thing though.

Potential author turn Author!anon here XD
Not sure whether this was what OP wanted though :( Since this is the only way I can see Izaya with some sort of defect. Shizuo pulled out another cigarette from his pack and lighted it as he walked down the empty alleyways. It was way past midnight; only the most dangerous people of the underworld frequent these areas at this time. It wasn’t any concern of the blonde bartender though since no one dared approach him due to his inhuman strength that was well known all over Ikebukuro ( ... )

I smell excellent Izaya tormenting! Which I can't have enough for my life XD

I like that it's Yellow Scarves: I loved the anime but it gave me a feeling that they kinda downplayed how bad "kids" can get when they're out of control. This seems to be what teenagers can do when they think it's the end of the world and they happen to have someone they can blame for it in their hands.

I can't wait for more!
