Shiki shook his head. “No, stay. I want you to meet a person.”
The red head man frowned but when Izaya turned around to face him his heart skipped a beat. He will never forget those gorgeous red eyes, they had stared up at him during a night of fifteen years ago. They had begged him to not abandon that beautiful newborn child, they were full of tears when Akabayashi saw them for the last time.
“Shhh… don’t be afraid…” The red head teenager held the baby to his chest one last time, the tiny hand grabbed the fabric of his white shirt and those red eyes looked at him like the baby knew what he was going to do. “You’re beautiful like your mommy, Izaya ( ... )

The loud voice of an infant was the only noise in the dark bedroom, that little thing was lying on the little bed wrapped in a High School uniform’s jacket. Shiki looked down at the shivering baby, it was a boy and it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen but his gaze was empty and he was deaf to the baby’s crying.
“Shiki, hold him…” Akabayashi said walking around the room without a real reason.
“I don’t want…” was the cold answer. The other boy sighed. “What do you want to do?”
Shiki didn’t answer continuing to look at the little, fragile thing in front of him. “He is cold, wrap him in something else.”
“He is cold because you aren’t holding him” Akabayashi replied softly. “Come on, Shiki, hold him for a while! I can’t think with that crying thing!”
Thing… Thing… Thing… It was their son for God’s sake and they couldn’t help but continue to call him that thing. Shiki picked up the little bundle holding him close to his chest trying to rock the little boy, ( ... )
