He tossed a look at the blond. The guy's face was contorted in a grimace and he trembled with fury. His fists kept clenching and unclenching. Izaya knew he shouldn't approach a person that looked like that. It was logical not to near anyone who seemed like a volcano that could erupt any time. But just as a moth is drawn to the light, he too, was attracted to something that he should be aware of, stay away from - Shizuo, that is. You know how dangerous animals have those warning signs on them - take wasps for example - they are a bright yellow with black stripes - practically a huge neon sign screaming 'DON'T COME CLOSER, I'LL ATTACK YOU'. Shizuo's senpai had the idea to do something similar with Shizuo - dye his hair blonde. And so all of humanity obediently shunned Shizuo, while Izaya was the only one to come closer than anyone ever dared to come before him. He systematically tore down all the walls that the beast built carefully over the years, stripping the man to his core, until there were no more masks no more strength, no more ( ... )

So strange. The cat didn't seem to like strangers ever before. When he had clients over, she'd hide under the couch or somewhere like that. The biggest achievement so far was when Shiki managed to coax her from under the huge black sofa using catnip as a bait ( ... )

As the sun slowly rose above Ikebukuro, two figures still kept destroying the city in the spur of their chase. One had to wonder whether they had any idea about the time they spent running around (sometimes in circles) but to them it wasn't anything out of the ordinary ( ... )

A very unmanly shriek left both of the enemies' mouths when the weapon made contact, sending strange wave of pain through both of their bodies. It felt as if someone was setting fire to their insides. Something deep within them seemed to transfer, move and damn- it hurt, it hurt so much. All their thoughts vanished for a while before the pain simply disappeared, leaving nothing but fragments of memories ( ... )

Why did he have to spend more time with that life-wrecking leech, who lived off of human energy, their happiness. He stole it all and kept it locked away. He laughed at other's misfortune, stomping enthusiastically on their hearts, shattering them in the process. And he didn't mind. He thought it was fun. Because everything seemed right in that twisted mind of his when he reminded everyone that he was torturing humanity because he was in love with it. Shizuo hated people like Izaya the most. He despised the way they lied and got away with it. They used their dirty tricks and lies to their advantage, as a weapon. They knew what they were doing all too well and they were doing it on purpose. Because they could. Not because they had to, not because they wanted to, not because they needed to. Just because they wanted to prove that they could do it. It was a power-play of sorts. With them being the puppeteers, pulling other people's strings, sometimes cutting one or two and waiting until the puppet collapsed on itself ( ... )

All of a sudden a black feline ran down the stairs, springing up on the couch - successfully making Shizuo scream in a really really girlish way. Izaya couldn't stop the giggle escaping him this town and picked the kitten up, petting its head. The small cat purred contentedly and closed its eyes ( ... )

This is uncomfortable, the informant wanted to complain, but didn't want to wake the beast up. But it hurt so bad! Seriously though, the ex-bartender could be so insensitive sometimes! Throwing him out of his own bed and making him sleep on the floor! What audacity ( ... )
