It's certainly possible that psychological discipline techniques (e.g., meditation) could help alleviate some of the symptoms of ADD. We know that those who regularly engage in these practices (e.g., Catholic nuns and Buddhist monks) can reliably modify brain activity, and even shut down certain portions of the brain to achieve the sensation of environmental transcendence. Although it's a purely subjective phenomenon, it could plausibly provide a biofeedback mechanism whereby one could manage one's own ADD.
This is probably something that you want to talk to Dr. Steven Novella about.

my parents' toaster is pretty awesome. it has a dial with which you choose the level of (for lack of a better word at the moment) toastiness and a button to warm up bread--if the toaster didn't toast quite enough, or if you just want your bread a little warm and not completely toasted.
fascinating stuff.
