Actually, there's no such thing as "the one." There's a bunch of potential spouse combinations, but you'll never meet 99.9% of them. Or if you do, they're married already or you're married already or some variation. Of the ones you DO meet, you've got to decide which of them you most prefer, and then they do the same thing. As soon as you find someone that matches your preference, that's when you go for it.

It's not an exact process, though. If you go for it with the first person you meet, it's probably not going to work out. Also, if you wait too long, you'll disqualify too many people and end up alone or with somebody that you really can't stand.
