Ah, it had to be Holly! Toby's in no place to dispense advice about temper and violence. Well, okay, a little bit, but his advice is of extremely variable sagacity.
Also, Elliot listens better when he feels guilty. That punch has to be good for something.
So happy you like the little details. I like minutae.
Thanks wycombe!

Elliot is talking now, eh. Good for him. Toby is the perfect person for Elliot to talk to, especially for this kind of topic.
I loved, loved, loved that last part about glasses! You knew my view about that. Thank you very much!

Thanks BR!
I'm sure Holly has all sorts of reasons for hating Harry. But it seems likely there was that first one before all the other ones followed.
Toby knows better than to trust Elliot will ascribe his own 'dump all the laundry on the floor' approach, but it's a start. He won't be intimidated or shocked by Elliot's moods. That will be good for Elliot.
As you know my view on his glasses. Lovely geeky Toby. :-)

That's probably my favourite line of all, the totally casual way that Holly drops Hank's first name while Elliot didn't even say his full name. and the way I'm hearing her say it, she doesn't even pause or breath, she talks as naturally as about some random kid from school. It's so reminiscent of how casually Toby talks about 'Vern', and totally chilling.
And Holly having to explain to Elliot why it's difficult for her to let her anger out, and Elliot realizing how he takes it for granted. Loved it.
The image of Gary protecting his little sister, heartbreaking.
Elliot having to confess to Toby just how intimately he has to relate to bastards in order to trick them.
