Dean was lying blankly in his bedroom. He missed having people at his apartment, he missed Sam and his dad. Mostly he just missed Cas, his boyfriend, hanging around. He looked at his walls, their blank and white expressions making his head ache. He sighed and stood up walking out, grabbing his car keys on the way out. He locked the front door behind him and sprinted down the stairs.
"Hey baby, let's go for a ride." He said stroking the Impala as he walked toward the door. He buckled his seatbelt and turned the key, listening to her purr. He pulled away from his apartment and headed to the the diner down the road. He thumped his hands on the steering wheel as he drove.
He pulled up to the diner and waved to his friend Jo, who was busy waiting tables. He looked in the other window to see Cas and the Sheriff, Chuck sitting in a booth. They were talking and laughing with each other, Dean saw Chuck reach across the table and set his hand on Cas's. Dean walked, well more ran, into the diner and death stared Cas, desperation in his eyes. He stormed back out, climbing back into the Impala and buckling up. Dean took one last look, a mix of emotions before he restarted the car and pulled away. He speed off, everyone in the diner staring at the tail of the Impala. Cas waited until the car was out of eye shot before he stood up and gave Jo a ten dollar bill for his lunch, heading out to his car after.
"Cas?" Chuck asked getting up.
"Too late." Jo said, not even glancing from the ticket she was writing. Cas pulled off in his car after Dean. Dean was dangerously speeding to the pier, the sitting lazily in the background of his passenger window. Cas was far behind Dean, only guessing where he would go. Dean slammed on the brakes as he got to the pier and parked, almost jumping out. He was holding back the crying feeling and sat down on one of the rocks piled close to the water's edge. He was silent as he stared into the ocean, taking in the freezing ocean air. Cas pulled up next to the Impala and parked, stepping out and shivering in the October air remembering he left his jacket at the diner. He looked up and noticed Dean sitting on the rocks, his silhouette was still. He approached slowly, being sure Dean didn't hear him. Cas knew how jealous Dean could get, he knew why and he knew not to get him upset.
"Dean?" Cas asked, sitting next to him. Dean glanced up at Cas, his eyes were pink around the edge. Cas moved himself close to Dean, his body shivering in the cold.
"I'm sorry." Dean said looking away. Cas wrapped his arm around Dean's waist and set his head on Dean's shoulder.
"Dean you didn't do anything wrong." Cas said pulling himself to Dean. Dean looked at Cas and sighed, "Cas, I'm getting jealous over Chuck. Chuck, Cas." He buried his head into his hands. Cas lifted his head up and looked at the waves before speaking softly, "Dean, I made you a promise that I would never hurt you and I intend to keep that promise."
Cas took Dean's hands away from his face and brought it up to eye level.
"Dean, I love you okay?" Cas said kissing Dean's cheek gently and setting his head back on Dean's shoulder. Dean crooked a smile and kissed the top of Cas's head.
"I love you too." he whispered, gently taking off his jacket and wrapping it around Cas's shoulders.
