Excellent news, I'm glad to hear it. They really need to make it that kind of miles to begin to exceed breakeven economically, even with $4/gal gasoline.
I am in Stockholm and I gotta tell you - the Swedes love the Prius. I have counted 18 so far that I have noticed on the streets and I have only been here two days (spent one of those days in an office). For a population of 8k, I swear half of the cars are Priuii.
I absolutely love my Prius. The ONLY thing that would make it more awesome would be a towing hitch. Ahem.
My fuel economy is about the same as yours in winter, but not quite as high in summer, but then it really depends on the weather. Plus GR is fairly hilly. My worst tank of gas was a brutally cold week where it ran at 37. Best was in the Florida Keys, 60MPG.
I recently changed out the original 12V battery, but the main battery is still fine. Knock on wood so are the wheel bearings. The interior door upholstery has loosened and is beginning to fall down, but I blame that on temperature shifts and gravity.
You drive your car a LOT, Dale. Mine is a year younger but has 50K fewer miles. Wow.
