Deathly Hallows (no spoilers but a rant)

I finished reading the book a few days ago but hadn't gotten around to updating on here. I loved it, it was brilliant. I got a bit confused around the middle of the book so I had to read super slowly but other than that. it was great.

What's really REALLY irking me off at the moment is the DH discussion forum on SS. They're posting questions and

1) Thestrals, broomsticks, flying carpets, dragons and winged horse carriages. You know, before most of these methods got banned because of the Muggle statute of secrecy? Oh, and walking.

2) Magic paint and a series of spells?

3) There are statues but I don't think they had paint widely available until a lot after the founding of Hogwarts, otherwise their portraits would be tacked somewhere everyone could see. So no, no portraits.
