i eat when i smoke too, but not like obscene amounts. i usually try to eat before i smoke if i know ahead of time im going to. that way im super full already and wont want to make myself severely uncomfortable. i'd love to hear more ways to solve this problem though
when i smoke with my friends, they're usually pretty good about food. they hate to eat after we've smoked, because it 'kills the high'. we still make routine wendy's runs, which gets obscene when i really come to think about it.
i would recommend having a lot of GOOD food around when you're stoned. maybe i'm just lame, but i love having, like, tangerines and fresh fruit and veggies around, so when i'm baked, unless i have an inordinate amount of junk food laying around, i tend to eat healthily. you feel a lot less gross and bloated if you gorge on, say, carrots and dip, or fruit, than you would if you eat an entire bag of doritos. that might be more of a lifestyle change than what you were hoping, but it's the best i can come up with.
also, fuck sodas and shit when you're baked. teeeea is the way to go. i love drinking cold chamomile tea when i'm stoned. it's a lot healthier than coke or pepsi or whatever, and, like the healthy food thing, doesn't make you feel like a complete piggy-douche afterwards.
I second FRUIT, especially watermelon and grapes- theyre the best when you're stoned because theyre so juicy. it helps curb your appetite because each piece feels like a whole meal, for me at least! plus, fruit isnt very...substantial...if you look at in the aspect that food kills your high.

just try and eat healthy stuff if you have the urge to munch out. for instance, I always have granola, trail mix, soy beans, raw veggies and hummus or dip and ice pops (to satisfy the sweet tooth). always have water to chug on, or just ignore the munchies altogether. eventually you'll get used to it. I don't really get the munchies like that anymore... of course I've been smoking for, like, 15 years now, so I've had some practice. :)

i have ibs so it doesn't really matter if i gorge on chips or fruit i still feel like shit after :\
and i never drink soda anyway
