The bank finally came through with the canceled checks. Unfortunately the charged us about $50 to find the checks and then fax them to the morgage company. It always pisses me off that I have to pay someone to do the job that they are already getting paid for by their employer!! Closing is being moved to the 6th since my hubby will be gone on the 7th. We should be moving in on the 8th and 9th. Still waiting on the bank to send us the canceled checks we asked for almost 2 weeks ago. Navy took my hubby away for about 3 days, so I'm having to deal with the bank. For those that don't know, there is another Hurricane heading toward the Gulf coast. At the moment, Hurricane Rita is expected to hit close to the Houston, Texas area. We ended up finding a house that we like in the town we're already living in. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Huge livingroom, Dining room, carport, and a fenced in backyard, and a breakfast nook. It's going to take alot of work, but we're looking forward to it... mainly because when we sell the house in a few years it will be worth alot more then we paid ( Read more... )

Thankfully, we live far away from the impact area, but my cousin lives in Baton Rouge. She decided to stay in her house for the storm. Thanks to all those that sent your prayers and kept them in your thoughts. I just got a call from her saying they are fine and had no major damage to their house. Talk about a relief!!! We are finally done with all of the parties for my daughter's 4th birthday! Everyone has finally left! LOL It turned out really well. I kept getting comments on the confetti cake I made.... box cake of course hehe. We got a few photos and some video of the day.
