Mazda was going to charge me over $3,200 for a new transmission. This is to replace the sucky one that came with the car. Next, they told me I needed new brake system, there goes another $650 dollars. Then I needed the tune up and new hoses.
In the long run, the book value of the car is less than $5,000. For a second the dealer got me looking at the new Mazda 6. I liked the car and was going to buy it when it hit me.
Why should I give extra money to Mazda to buy a new car to replace the crappy one that they built. I know many people whose car has more than 65,000 miles on it. Hence, I told the dealer I was angry that poor quality of the Mazada 626 is forcing me to make a purchase that I wasn't ready for yet. I was enjoying having a car with no payments. So, I thank the dealer for his time and when to both Honda and Toyota to see who had the better car and deal.
