Well, its more like a bunch of hard drives configured to look like a single one. Also, there is redundancy - the RAID1 "drive" is mirrored, and the RAID5 has 4 disks; if one in either array dies, I'm still OK.

But yes...crazy awesome it is :)

The things I could do with a 1 TB HD... how much does one cost?

Its not a single hard drive, actually the entire configuration currently has 6 drives in it...2 I bought a while ago (250gb) that I don't remember how much they cost, but the terabyte array consists of 400gb SATA drives which could be had as little as $150/piece any more.

I could hook it up to my weather station and use it as my Data Archive instad of it sucking up the space in my regular compy
